St. Patrick's Day Walk

Today my Daddy had a trial in Danville all morning so when he got back I was ready to go for my first walk around my neighborhood. Well, technically I didn't walk but my Mommy and Daddy did and they pushed my stroller. I slept most of the time, maybe because I didn't know what to think about all that sunshine and fresh air! I had on my outfit to celebrate St. Patrick's Day so no one could pinch me for not wearing green.

My First Wedding

I got married! Not really, but my Uncle Gbenga did. I had never been around so many people before, it was very loud but I managed to get some sleep anyway. My Mommy gave me a bottle just before the wedding started so I dozed off for most of it. I did hear someone rapping about Jesus to a funky beat at one point...it was Uncle Gbenga! Later on my Mommy danced the electric slide but my Daddy stayed at the table with me. I said "Daddy take me out there!" but he couldn't hear me because the music was so loud. As you can see from these pictures, I had a nice new outfit for the occasion. My Mommy looked very pretty in her dress, too, but you can't see that in the pictures.

Today is my half-year birthday!

I am 6 months old today. Only 6 more months 'til I'm ONE YEAR OLD...I plan to do a lot of growing between now and then! After a long day of eating my bottles, playing, and napping, I had a conversation with my mommy. I told her how much fun I had with my daddy while she went out to the store. I also told her about my visit from my Auntie Jill. I asked my mommy to post some pictures of me on my 6 month birthday...and she did!

My name is Xavier Pierre Barr. I was born September 11, 2008 at 27 weeks gestation. I weighed 1 lb 5oz at birth and spent 3 months in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) before my mommy and daddy got to bring me home. I came home on Christmas Eve and got to spend my very first Christmas with my mommy and daddy. Santa brought me LOTS of presents!

I am now 6 months old (actual age) and 3 months adjusted age and I have been home for 2 and a half months. My mommy and daddy have taken great care of me and I have been thriving. I weigh over 11lbs now! Every time I go see my pediatrician, Dr. S, he is soooo impressed by how well I'm doing.

I will make sure that my mommy and daddy post pictures of me here to keep all of our family and friends updated on my growth and development. To start, I have chosen a few pictures for my mommy to post of me since I've been home. Enjoy!
